PNZ Exterior Oil

PNZ Exterior Oil

Natural protection for your wood outdoors. Weather- and UV-protection for domestic and exotic wood. Sustainably produced with regional raw materials.

Suitable for

New or renovation coats for domestic and exotic wood (wood decks, terraces, facade cladding, windows, doors, garden houses, timber frame, playsets, etc.). Pigmented Exterior Oil offers great protection against extreme climatic influences due to the deep impregnation of its non-film forming surface. Similar to bark Exterior Oil places itself in the capillary structures of wood and creates a highly water-, weather- and UV-resistant surface. Exterior Oil is free of toxic agents, odorless when dry. Swelling and cracks are kept to a minimum.

Product Characteristics
Consumption

Approximately 60–70 ml/m², meaning 1 liter of Exterior Oil is enough for approximately 15 m² per coat, depending on the type of wood and surface (planed or rough-sawn). Corrugated wood can increase consumption (by a factor of 2–3). Lower consumption affects the durability of the coat.

Storage

Cool, but frost free.

Cleaning

Clean tools with thinner or turpentine substitute immediately after use.

Contents

Refined natural oils such as soybean and sunflower oil, isoaliphate, natural waxes, lead-free drying agents, neodecanoic acid, cobalt salt, pentanonoxime, iron oxide pigments and titanium dioxide.

Important notices

Contains neodecanoic acid, cobalt salt. May produce an allergic reaction. To avoid skin contact use suitable gloves (nitrile). Wear a dust mask when sanding. Safety data sheet available on request. This product contains a maximum of 600 g/l VOC.

Application/Use
  • Surface must be clean, dry and free of grease and dust.
  • Woods with a particularly high content of wood components should be weathered for about 4 weeks prior to initial treatment. Fresh, pressure-treated wood like massaranduba, garapa, ipe should be weathered for about 3 months prior to the initial treatment.
  • Processing temperature (incl. drying) above + 8°C. Wood humidity < 18%. Air humidity < 60%.
  • Works differently depending on surface characteristics. Apply a trial coat first.
  • Pay attention to structural wood protection.
  • Stir contents well before and during use.
  • Final treatment using Exterior Oil Natural prolongs abrasion resistance (especially decks).
  • If possible, apply once on all sides before assembly.
  • Treat softwood (risk of fungi) in exteriors with an appropriate impregnation primer before applying the first coat.
  • Apply oil thinly and evenly – avoid film formation and wipe off the excess oil.

This product can be applied by brush, spray nozzle or roller to untreated wood. Apply thinly and collect excess oil with a cloth. The surface is ready for further treatment as soon as it is dry to the touch and no longer sticky. We recommend 2 to 3 applications. For aftercare old, intact oil coatings can generally be painted over. Old coats that aren't load bearing have to be sanded off prior to the treatment.
