Product Characteristics
Consumption

The amount applied should be between 20-25 ml/m² depending on the kind of wood and the cut of the wood, meaning 1 liter of PNZ Oil exterior is enough for approximately 50 m² per application. If too much PNZ Oil is applied drying can be inhibited. For concrete information run a test on the object on a discreet spot. Corrugated wood can increase consumption (factor 2-3).

Storage

Cool, but frost free.

Cleaning

Clean tools with thinner or turpentine substitute immediately after use.

Application/Use
  • Surface has to be clean, dry and free of dust and frost.
  • Wood with a particularly high amount of wood components should be weathered for about 4 weeks prior to their initial treatment. Fresh, pressure-treated wood like massaranduba, garapa, ipe should be weathered for about 3 months prior to the initial treatment.
  • Application temperature (including drying) above + 8 °C. Wood humidity < 18%. Air humidity < 60%.
  • Works differently depending on surface characteristics. Apply a trial coat first.
  • Adhere to rules of constructive wood preservation.
  • Stir contents well before and during use.
  • If possible, apply once on all sides before assembly.
  • Treat softwood (risk of fungi) in exteriors with an appropriate impregnation primer before applying the first coat.
  • Apply oil thinly and evenly. Avoid layer formation and collect excess oil.

Apply the pigmented PNZ Oil exterior to raw, untreated wood thinly with a cloth, brush, roller or block brush. Let take effect for a short while and use clean painting tools without oil to spread again. Collect excess oil with lint-free cloth until the surface appears dry. If needed apply again after 8 to 24 hours. Let dry for 24 hours. Old coats should either be removed prior to application or be checked for compatibility.
